Alright kiddies, Well StarCraft II came out. I'm going to be providing you some starting tips and a few counters for the Protoss

I'm going with Protoss as its the main race I play. In the beginning what you want to do is put all your probes on minerals. max out your probe count to 10 you need 9 probes on minerals 1 for construction this goes for EVERY class. it goes 9 probes then pylon or alternate structures to boost unit count.

After that drop down a gateway and pop out a few zealots. while doing this keep putting out a few probes but always keep enough minerals so your capable of instantaneously adding another zealot to the build queue when one is finished. expand out to getting assimilators and drop another gateway. Now a helpful tactic is setting up a choke point at an entrance of your base. its helpful to put 2 pylons behind the ramp to enter your base area and then block with gateways and make a choke point thats very tight and block it off with zealots its a great defense.
Get a forge and research upgrades.

Its helpful to put 2 probes on your assimilators  for quicker harvesting of gases.

drop down a cybernetics core and start teching up to build stuff in a robotics bay or stargate. and its always helpful to start getting stalkers. one thing that is REALLY helpful is NEVER let anythings building queue be empty. always try to build something.

Now while most people tend to be void ray rushing nowadays a great counter to this is a massive stalker spam. select all stalkers focus them on 1 void ray at a time and lower the numbers continue on from there however you like. Just put into consideration if you're playing an opponent that has stealth capabilities get something that will reveal stealth! such as photon cannons.
