LoL Beginner's Night!
« on: June 08, 2010, 11:30:33 PM »
Hey folks!

Just thought I'd mention that I am planning an LoL Beginner's tutorial night for next week on Monday night. I will be around with a few buddies (Madcat and Twists and Lozrat, most likely!) and available to give a crash course on LoL.

The requirements for participation is to download and install League of Legends or update your current LoL client and be available for at least an hour. Also, if you get a chance to run through the tutorial, that'll give you some hints on the game!

My life gets completely uncomplicated starting Friday (yay for Summer! Teaching rocks!) so, I will be around at most times throughout the day to play a game or two with whomever is ready.

Please join us in the LoL Mumble channel on Monday starting at about 5pm PDT (PACIFIC! Woo California!) to get some basic instruction and some tips from the pros! Well, at least tips from me...who can play dps type characters and one moo cow tank named Alistar. :D

Ideally we should try to get about 10 people there overall, so that we can run a full practice game. If we get more, we can run multiple games at once, with some of us who have been playing for a while floating between the mumble channels answering questions. I'd encourage everyone who's had even a passing interest to come and join us - we'll most likely be on all night! I should point out that LoL is free to play, although only 10 of the 50+ champions are available at any given time if you haven't purchased more with real money or with in-game money that you gain from playing.

I should be available. Are we aiming for a specific time or just Monday night in general?

Just Monday night in general. I'm thinking I'll be in the channel most of the evening, but I listed 5pm (Pacific) on the post!
It'd be nice to get a large chunk of people together so we can run some practice games :)

It'll be good to see you there, Cheddar! :D

I'll try to be there. I've just played a few practice games against bots. The game's pretty cool! It's not as complicated as I thought it would be, and that's really what keeps me from most RTS games.

Heroes of Newerth is definitely a little more complicated than LoL. same concept though blowing up towers and such trying to destroy a main structure unit. both games are fun HoN takes a little more skill than LoL.

Awesome! Make sure to post your summoner name on the thread in the LoL forum page so we can find you and connect!
We're around most nights and totally down to play some games. But, Monday is scheduled for beginners! :D

Can't wait to see you then!
