What the hell was up with the calls in that game?!
« on: July 11, 2010, 05:40:13 PM »
Gotta tell ya, some were blatant, obvious calls. And then the dives from Spain were just unbelievable. I say, call the dives. Netherlands did it once with a great embelishment on a boderline call and then he sees it wasn't a call and walks away smoothly after fakin a limp...

Also, the 'tell' for the dives from Spain for about 3/4 of their dives: They throw their hands up in the air. If you are tripped and falling forward, do you use your arms to braces the fall, or flail your hands up in the air like a malfunctioning robot?

You know there is a WC thread for this Running! :P

Here is what I posted on the pball forum about this matter:

World Cup was a bust this year for a few reasons.

1) Same Spain that won the Euro Cup 2 years ago was very different, more aggressive and less whiny.

2) Douche bag South African's with their VU VU ZILA or whatever you call their native horns. I have never watched so little footy during a major event, and it was the South African's fault for making the playing and viewing so damn uncomfortable. If I wanted to listen to constant droning and retarded noises I'd listen to my dad's gf speak.

3) Teams that won didn't win in the traditional, high flying talent exhibition that you'd come to expect, but rather won through defensive, kinda mediocre play, it wasn't superstar caliber quality from most teams, save and except Germany, Netherlands and the U.S.A.

4) The fucking VUVU ZILLAS again, can't stress how fucking annoying they are. You think club songs and chants from home fans are bad, I catch someone with a Vuvu in Toronto they are having it broken over their dumbass heads.

ty South Africa for putting on an event that I will remember as shitty, you make me so mad that I almost wished slavery back on you for this one, but you're lucky Kyle and Squish held me back.

I didn't mind the vuvuzeulas at all.  They gave it some flavor.

No they didn't give it flavour... there was international uproar about it. And the ignorant South Africans just said "Please respect our culture" rather than saying "We are the host nation and should respect the rest of the fucking world"

And the final championship game gets it's own thread rather than the 5th page.

What the hell was up with the yellow card after that guy got kicked in the chest? That should've been a blatant red card.

I think the game rocked, now I hate my boss 1000x more... he went all the way to south Africa this weekend, spent a sh.. load of money to get to the finals... and his team won... I wonder when I would be able to do that?? (and I mean going to a WC final... and my team winning it!)
