I ran the installer, it asked whether or not I wanted to install Tribes:Ascend or Planetside.

Yeah, tried, but they renamed it to some lame game called Global Agenda that has the exact same premise with half the cool stuff and gameplay that blows. D:

Ran Ascend, but it runs like butts on my laptop, going to have to wait until my new "work" laptop gets in.

XPS 17, i7 2760k, 8gb ram, GeF 555 3gb, 256gb SSD, 1080p screen, etc etc etc. Super high end specs some dept of transportation douche ordered for the laptop my company has to provide him with, but we normally would never buy someone a rig like that, but the VP of the company wants to wheel and deal with him on other stuff we're supposed to provide him, so it's a bargaining chip. I was getting approval on whether or not to buy it for the DOT guy, and jokingly said "Damn, I'll just get two of these and one can be my company laptop" and the VP was like "yeah/whatever/get it done/etc". I didn't hesitate one second in ordering two of them.

So tribes will have to wait until it arrives next week.

Ascend still has somethign in the settings I can't figure out that make smy aiming feel floaty. Don't know why.

Robear, the game is fun. But it has it's different learning curve.
You don't get to choose your loadout you pick classes.
The game doesn't feel as fast as previous versions of Tribes. Even if you're playing a light clas and you're cracking the speed barrier.
Everything feels a little floatier than I'm used to.

Pretty much the only thing annoying me though is that my mouse feels floaty, I don't get the same snap controls I do as in hte old tribes games, or BF3, or NS, or anything really. And I can't figure out if it's a setting in the game, or a video setting or what that makes it feel like that.

Maybe the game engine is made like that. I think there is a setting called smooth mouse that might cause effects when aiming but i dont know about movement. They could turn up the gravity if they used source engine to fix "floatyness". I want to build turrets and bomber planes!

There's only one class that drops turrets.
There's only one air behicle and it costs points to buy it. You get points for objectives and kills.

Runs fine on my laptop and brings back great times in tribes 2. Only time my mouse feels floaty is on the menu screen, gameplay is fine

Yeah but I found t2 slower than t1. And then legions brought the speed back but the community is small.
