I think i'm supposed to say something about hipsters here?I read an article today about a school up in North TX that spent $150k to put in a laptop program and the cost of repairing those laptops for last year alone was $55k. I'm not saying macs are bad for schools, but you better damn well get someone mac certified to work on the damn things or apple will personally come to your school to collect your arm and leg.
Some Stats for the School District I work for.Clients:80,000 Windows Endpoints -- Roughly 1/3 of this is laptops3,000 Apple/OtherTotal Schools: 187Network Bandwidth: 100MB burstable to 1000MB up/downConnection setup: 50MB to each site Burstable to 100MB3 total backbones. 2 load balanced and 1 fail over I could pull up the average network usage but Since the Winter Break its skewed.
