shouldn't this go in the tech help thread?
and, I don't know if you think it's worth it, but the 2500K doesn't support hyper-threading.

Change it up with the liquid cooling, Get the corsair h80. I have one and I reccomend it to anyone. 5 year warranty on the thing too. Keeps my cpu. mmmm. Around 26 celc idle. and hits about 32 under load.

Good call on the seasonic PSU, They're fantastic. Maybe get a 700 though....

I'd upgrade to a 26 or a 2700k.

Try using this for your 16gb of ram

If that 620w Seasonic PS is in your optimal efficiency range for the power you'll be running, I'd stick with it. Seasonic will provide you with the power efficiency curves so you can get it dead on. I have a Corsair HX1000X which is based on the Seasonic design, and it's a bad mother fucker.

Reason for bumping to the 2600/2700? Hyperthreading meaning what? (the keep it simple part means explaining a bit)

Also, the power supply covers this and an doubling of the vid card down the road apparently, hence getting this for now. Though if I change up the cpu, that would change i assume.

Nah if you changed the CPU it wouldn't change.  Reason for bumpin to the 2600 or 2700 just is simply better performance and you're moving away from the i5 series to the i7 series.

So, from what I can tell, ther is no sense in bumping up the processor. Plus I can just OC this one a little bit.

PCU is good i5's are nice
GTX 560 ti is nice, but if you can go upto 580 fermi you are looking better. Now if you do that you would have to get a better power supply, say 850w.

Keep in mind I am not an intel guy I like AMD's, I have had better luck with them.
Cheers!!!

So, from what I can tell, ther is no sense in bumping up the processor. Plus I can just OC this one a little bit.

actually you can OC the living shit out of that thing with a liquid cooler. get a corsair h80. there are people OCing 2500k's to 5ghz on air cooling. so. I mean 5ghz is easily do-able with liquid. I cant remember which place does it. cyberpower sells rigs with i5's and i7's like that. oc'd to 5ghz

I have a 560 Ti, Its nice. I agree. if the 7950 is coming out soon get one of those i've seen the stuff on those. they are freaking crazy. but if you're a nvidia guy like me yeah get a 580 And AHP negatory he doesnt need a 850 PSU. I could probably run triple SLI on a 700. Don't blow your money upping to a lesser quality larger wattage psu. get a good efficient and reliable psu like SeaSonic or PC Power & Cooling. Or even the Corsair HX series.

NIC = ?

And the solution to this is what? All you did was point out an oversight that I still don't understand. I will look this up tomorrow (2am is a bad time), but your insight would be appreciated.

sorry running, it was a joke.  iba and I decided a couple of years ago that if 1 network port on a motherboard is good, then 2 or even 4 must be better.  For about a year or two in there, companies like gigabyte and asus were selling motherboards to gamers that had dual and even quad gigabit lan.  95% of your average gaming 12 year olds will have no idea what to do with the other 3 network ports.

NIC stands for Network Interface Controller.

Thank you sir :)

95% of your 25 year old gamers will also not know what to do with that.
