Blizzard of 2011
« on: February 01, 2011, 08:26:03 PM »
Or so they call it... So here in KC we are getting hammered by the snow(about 12 inches and counting). My friend, who lives in St. Louis has been stuck at work since Sunday sleeping on the rock hard dining room floor  because they were hit with an ice storm and were told not to leave work. Missouri and Kansas (as I am sure other states as well) are both declaring this blizzard a Statewide "State of Emergency" which the local government is also expecting it to turn into a Federal State of Emergency since it costs us $150,000 per INCH of snow to clean up this mess and we are supposed to get 12-17 inches of snow (more in some parts i.e. St Louis). So how much snow do some of you have?

The following picture was taken 4 hours ago and there was 8 inches then... Sorry its small

I haven't encountered any snow as I'm over in California, but I just read about it and saw a crazy image of what it looks like from space.

It's pretty freaky looking (for a picture of the US from space during the day)

Hey, California is doing pretty well there too.
(I mean, everyone else is going to freeze, but the southern coasts are going to be fine)

I have two trees in my backyard that werent there before.

The tree at the  front of my parents house is now touching/frozen to the driveway. It sagged that much. I seriously am considering just driving through it tomorrow morning.

Just making a jab at those silly west-coasters :P

Also, I do not like how it will rain/storm almost everyday, at 3PM in Florida.  Really cuts into my motorcycle riding time, which is unacceptable.

They said this is the worst snow storm for the KC region in over 20 years. I'm 24 and my mom said theres not been one this bad since I was born. My dad works as a delivery driver for US Food service and they canceled his routes yesterday and today and my mom works for one of the top 10 childrens hospitals in the US and they are on "state of emergency-essential personnel only " protocol. I would like spring soon please!

Apparently also the coldest in 20 years in the south. That's kind of funny for me. Kind of like "Ha! Fuck you and your mild winters. Be a man!"

It was 60 here while the blizzard was hitting up North.
