How To - Samsung Moment Repair Guide
« on: January 01, 2011, 10:55:48 AM »
Alright Recently I dropped  my phone into a toilet, it sustained water damage forming corrosion in the phone on connectors etc. But I've also Picked up some information about the phone on how to take it apart, and replace certain pieces. a guide i've found tells you how to take it apart to replace the touch on the phone which basically takes the ENTIRE phone apart. Now in this tutorial it does mention taking a heat gun to the phone. Don't do that. this guy is a idiot its un-necessary. you can slip a screwdriver into where the speaker section is on the phone and pry up on the touch screen part of the phone and it comes up WITHOUT breaking it, once that is done the glue that holds the LCD in is ON the touch screen and it will come out. be aware there is a ribbon cable attached to the bottom of the LCD board as shown in one of the images below. This tutorial will help you replace a LCD screen, Touch Digitizer, OR the Ribbon cable in the phone.

Push down firmly on the rear cover to remove it. Remove battery and screws(one is hidden under the sticker).
The hardest part of this is getting the case apart. Once the screws are removed, insert a case opener tool (or tiny flathead screwdriver or a stiff guitar pick) wherever you can and work slowly around the phone, pulling the black plastic out and up. Use finger pressure to keep it from closing back while you're moving around it, opening it further.

Once you have the back cover off, you can start removing connections. There's a grey wire on the right with two little metal connections that snap on. At the top is a black speaker connection(red and white wire) that should be pried straight up. And on the left is a ribbon that plugs in...pry up on the little square panel.
