Mumble channels

So what happened to the game channels??
I used to like it because if you were playing a separate game and did not want to hear 8 people playing another game then you could go in that channel.. And when people wanted to play the same game as you they would join the channel you were in.
Is there a reason why members cannot create/modify channels? Are we not to be trusted with something as simple as that?

If I'm not mistaking its a bit more complicated from what I've understood to hand out permissions as specific as that because of how our mumble specifically is set up. Although I could be wrong and I may be thinking of something else for some odd reason, and this would be a question better directed at Anomaly. Even then if you guys wanted different channels it can always be requested in the forums as it always has. Thus this is called the feedback/requests/tech help forum.

Although this by far is the best channel setup I've ever seen in mumble

They were eliminated because people were joining wherever people were and not necessarily what game they were playing. This only changed when people wanted to leave a channel to play a certain game, which frequently entailed them joining a channel that was for a different game because it was easier. Thus, to eliminate many of the channels that were not as traversed, but also encouraging people to stop in, we implemented the current channel setup. The only drawback as you have highlighted is that sometimes it is hard to be able to play your game in peace, but we found that was occurring in the previous mumble setup as well because enforcement of the game-only chat was not desired.
Per the channel changing, modification of channels deals with ACL privileges, which effectively is the whole toolbox. The only other alternative to that is temporary channels. As seen in the past, use of temporary channels frequently grows out of control quickly and causes an increase in channels with no set purpose/reason or containing names that are not viewed as acceptable by the clan/community as a whole.
