This is the formal application for a name change here at [IAM].  This applies for community members and clan members

DO NOT REGISTER FOR A NEW NAME AND JUST ABANDON YOUR OTHER ONE.  We'd like to keep one account per member, if at all possible.

Name changes will be granted as long as they are appropriate for the [IAM] Clan Community.  With that being said, name changes should be RARE.  We do not want to be changing people's names all of the time.  If you're interested in having a name change, think it through before requesting it.

If you've thought it through, and you still want to go by a new identity, please title your topic based on the following:

Post Title: "REQUEST - Name Change (X to Y)"
In this title, the "REQUEST - " serves as the label for the appropriate grouping.  The Name Change signals to the leaders that you want a formal name change.
X is your CURRENT NAME
Y is your DESIRED NAME

Within the thread please include the following.

"Requesting name change from X to Y."
1. Your reason for requesting name change.
2. Explain if your change is complete or partial (i.e., you will have accounts with the previous name).
3. Do you want your user name changed on the forums as well (the user name is what you use to log in)?
  --> Any user name changes will result in a password reset.  FYI.

Based on your application, and your previous request history, your name change may or may not be granted.

If your name does change, the post will be retitled from "REQUEST" to "NAME CHANGE GRANTED (X to Y)."  This will inform the community of the change in the forums.
If you are an [IAM] member, name changes will be shown on the roster/about me section as "OLD NAME" --> "NEW NAME" to inform others.  Furthermore, all [IAM] members are expected to wear the tag ONLY with their official forum name.  That means if you have an account with your old name, YOU SHOULD NOT WEAR THE TAG WITH THAT ACCOUNT ANYMORE.  That may mean you have to start over on some progress in a game, etc.  Any deviations from this rule will be minimal and allowed only by special permission from the [IAM] Leaders.

Once again, please think through the process before requesting.  Name changes should be considered permanent!  Thanks.
