FEEDBACK - Mumble Idle Timer
« on: August 09, 2010, 03:38:36 PM »
Currently set at 10 minutes without any microphone activity (I believe).

Some suggestions from AGT: up to 20-30 minutes, get it so it checks computer activity and not mumble activity, exempt the homework channel.

Yeah, we were just playing HoN, it went poorly. Trying to just listen but not being able to talk = kicked.

You don't have to actually talk, just toggle the button every so often.

Yeah, masht he button from time to time. When not talking and just playing, this isn't a major thought, and it is easy to go 10 minutes without realizing this.

Just saying, convenience is an easier fix than having to create convenience for yourself.

What if the server sent you a message a minute before it moved you?

We're looking into some more development of this feature.  For now, the timer has been upped to ONE HOUR.  If you don't toggle at least once during the hour, you're getting sent to the naughty chair.

The aforementioned feature is now complete; you will be warned 10 minutes in advance of being moved.

And how would the server go about warning us will it be a tts or a message from the server in the box.

Did we ever make any progress on having mumble detect if the computer is idle, rather than iff the person simply hasn't said anything? That'd still be a nice upgrade to impliment. =)

I second that it would definitely be nice to be able to determine that somehow. Maybe have it just check the system for mouse activity or key strokes but not record any strokes or anything

I think the warning does it's job fairly well.  All you have to do is key.
