Anyone here ever take the test to be CISSP certified/know anyone who has?  Just trying to get a feel for what I'm getting myself into.

I have a couple of friends that have their CISSP, Tom.. Vorex has his lol... Def not an easy test but worth the effort. Most jobs pay for the classes leading up to the test. (Vorex got the deal on that one from our company). Makes a great email signature additive :D

Oh.. and get your Security+.. It knocks off a year of "Required" experience.

Yeah I'm getting work to pay for the course.  I can't take the exam yet, as I still have a couple years left to qualify but I wanted to get a jump on it.  I'm really just taking the class to see if this is a route I want to go in my professional career.  Thanks for the info!

Also, what is "Security+"?

Assert that he or she possesses a minimum of five years of professional experience in the information security field or four years plus a college degree. Or, an Advanced Degree in Information Security from a National Center of Excellence or the regional equivalent can substitute for one year towards the five-year requirement.

It falls under the regional equivalent... At least down here in Florida so you can knock off a year of professional experience.

Interesting, thanks.  I'll have to look into that and let some of my coworkers know as well.  Much appreciated.
