The Light of Jesus (don't cop a 'tude, this isn't religious)
« on: October 05, 2011, 11:12:49 AM »
Most of you know my rant on tactical flishlights in BF3.  I believe they are the equivalent to looking into the sun.

Well this guy refers to them as the "Light of Jesus"...pretty funny stuff.

It's actually not that unrealistic if it's indoors or getting dark outside. Mid day with bright sun I don't know if a gun tactical light can put out enough lumens to do that, but at night I know the full size tactical lights are enough, and can even go out to ranges of 100m+.. What REALLY would of been a bitch is if they added the strobe feature that most of those lights have, you would not only be really blind but I imagine it'd cause a bit of fps drop.

Nonetheless from what I have seen in videos it makes for some very annoying gameplay, they should probably tone it down to not annoy people as much.

Is it as effective outdoors in the sun on caspian?

That's lame. I bet from all of the negatives I have heard about it in videos they change it somehow before release.

Waiting for our military guys to come in and say "These fucking lights exist". Because they do...

but as Slugz mentioned, if they brought in puke lights (Developed by homeland security witht he soul purpose of a light enduced sickness... massive waste of money on R&D) then that'd be beyond annoying....

... but it does make me wonder if they're capable of using that technology and transposing it onto the computer monitor....

They need to make a tactical sunglasses option to unblind you from the light

That light would still blind. Just wouldn't be as bad. I see it as being very useful as long as your team doesn't blind you. Like flashbangs in CS... damn useful, but don't use them on your own damn team.

I spend half a game telling my team to turn their flashlights and lasersights off. It's soooooooooo annoying

The answer for the daylight part... is a resounding NO. Some of us will still use it but it's not as effective as... the night.

When I was in Afghanistan, in the RCP, we all were given tactical flashlights and S&R (Search and Rescue) flashlights. We all had our preferences in what to use during the times. I preferred the S&R Flashlights. But than again it depends on the maker and the item.
Eh?! 3-4 more months and I'm out! Hell yeah!
