so what does everyone think?
« on: November 10, 2011, 05:54:01 PM »
So what does everyone think about BF3 so far?  I myself am finding it extremely hard to get used to.  The recoil and vertical muzzle climb is so much sharper than in previous battlefields.  The knifing mechanics in the game are a little aggravating too especially when you knife someone and it doesn't go into the animation of stabbing the guy and then you have to slice at him 3 more times.  I think i like the BC2 setup for knifing and vehicles better, and also hate that i have to switch weapons to use the coax gun on the abrams.  But the thermals are friggin badass.  Does anyone else find it twice as hard to find your targets in this one? And how about that 1,000,000 lumin fuckin flashlight they got goin on? That thing will blind you from across the map. If they're gonna have that i want the option to have my guy put on sunglasses, i can't tell you the amount of fights i've lost because of that damn thing.  Other than these things i like it, minus a few bugs and glitches i'm having fun with it. Also does anyone know if there is away to see whose dog tags you have taken? Is there a setup kind of like how it was in BC2?

Go to your dog tags area of battle log and change the fliter to show only taken tags
The moment you become embarrassed of who you are, you lose your self

I love it so far, and everyone is talking about the jesus flash light. but it doesn't effect me unless its close quaters. and even then I can bare it.
Then again I play on Ultra so that may be the difference.
I haven't had any problems with the knifing. I have like 40+ knife kills.

I love the jets too. They aren't as dominate of a force. They fly a lot better now too.
Plus the different selections for vehicles are cool.

On the PS3, flying is hard partially because from habit of using both thumb sticks for flying in other games, it isn't the case for BF3. Only use the right thumb stick and it's a bit difficult at least for me, I'd be better off with a mouse and keyboard at least. Yeah the Jesus and Satan lights (lasers) are annoying at times, but hey they make it easy to identify the target at the same time. Other wise I like it and not going to waste my money on MW3.

But are you using both thumb sticks or just one? I'm used to having the right for yaw and pitch, and left for roll/banking.

yea i agree with you kalmah, i like the flying better with the two control stick use, i feel like there is to much going on to just use the one.  I think i'm a bigger fan of Rush than Conquest in this one.  Conquest i feel like there is always someone right behind me and as soon as i get a kill i get killed.

Exactly, console it's all combined into the right stick making it a bit tough to get used to, keep trying to use the left stick even though it's totally useless in flying. Holding down L3 "boost mode" while holding it in the forward position is another thing that takes time getting used to when you are driving a Tank.

I am a bit let down, everywhere before said it was going to be 32 players on console....only 24, but still better than MW3 that's running on the MW1 Engine.

Trust me you don't need a good computer. Mine technically can't run this game. But I run it smoothe on low/medium.

I'm pretty sure my laptop would explode or crash forever if it tried.

There are quiet a few things that are just weird in the game.
The BF3 Mythbusters shows a bunch of them.
