SPAM War
« on: November 24, 2012, 10:25:57 AM »

To all,

We recently have been under siege by spam bots. Some are getting through the cracks. We apologize for any that make it to the posting level. Please help us by reporting posts that truly violate our clan's community rules. Please be cautious in what you click if you are unsure of the poster.

Sorry again,
kymcman

Do we have any reason why we are all of a sudden getting spammed? And is there anyway we can requests pics instead of links?

I imagine you have the IP's?

And [for big sites] sometimes spam is followed by DDoS. Any thoughts on that?

We may need to have administrator account approval enabled for a short period of time?

For example, I cry because others are stupid, And that makes me sad.

Installed a new captcha system that is definitely helping.  If you want to see the new hotness, logout (or open an incognito tab) and try to register on the forums.  You can see it in action by "solving" it and hitting the register button without filling in any information.
