Zanis
« on: November 06, 2011, 01:33:17 PM »
First off, I was a part of this clan a few years back. I left due to issues that came up during a change in the website server. Since then, I went clan searching, trying to find other clans that had a similar atmosphere of friendliness (since i thought for sure my chances of getting back in here were shot), and I couldn't find any. So I tried to start my own community. What made me throw that away was the fact that I constantly ran into the issue of other people ruining the image of the community. So I threw that idea away too. About a month ago, I started realizing that the reason I was having so much fun in this clan was not because of the sole fact that I was in a clan, it was because of the people in it; and it is because of these people that I'm here once again, asking for forgiveness and to be allowed back in once again. I will deliver my formal reapplication at a later date; I feel it is appropriate to post here first and hang out with you guys a bit before I re-apply.

  • My first name is Joseph, but I am more commonly called by my middle name, Dylan.
  • My current handle is Zanis, I have used no other handles online.
  • I'm from Virginia, and my time zone is EST (UTC - 5)
  • I am currently 19 years old with my birthday being December 15th, 1991
  • I've played so many games I can't remember them all. I remember being good at TF2, Minecraft, and WoW.
  • My hobbies include playing video games, tinkering with my computer, playing Magic: the Gathering, as well as other generally nerdy subjects.
  • I currently lack a profession, unless being a college student is a profession.
  • I found you all years ago playing on your TF2 server.
  • I can help out with technical issues, and I've recently taken up hosting small game servers for my friends, so if you need a small private server up, feel free to contact me. I can host most Source engine games, as well as a few other games such as Killing Floor, Trackmania, and Terraria.
That's about it! I hope to be able to rejoin you all in the very near future.

Being a college student can definitely be a profession.  I look forward to hanging out with you - see you around!

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!

I actually just got started about a month ago. I picked up a blue/white Core 2011 intro pack and used that to get started. I've since modified that intro pack and made it blue/white Control. I also picked up an Innistrad fat pack soon afterwards and used that to make a red/green Burn deck. It annoys the hell out of my friend who loves artifacts to death. It's also fun getting a ton of werewolves on the field and then spend a turn doing nothing so they all transform. Those are my only two decks, I'm planning on getting a Star City Gold Collection soon and using that combined with the leftover Innistrad cards I still have to try a few other ideas I have, namely an Infect deck or maybe something involving black since I don't have a black deck yet. Hell, if I can I'd like to try making a black Infect deck =p.

Right now I have a blue mill "Burn your library" deck, that I plan to do tournaments with. Basically on turn 8 if I haven't already burned your entire library, I burn about +250 cards from it. :)

I also have a black zombie deck that by about turn 3 I can have like 18+ 2/2 zombies out.
And a white deck that I can easily get +99999999999999 health in one turn :)
And last but not least a red burn deck that steals your creatures and sacrifices them to do damage to yourself. :)

God, just yesterday I played a mill deck that had a bunch of Traumatizes (http://magiccards.info/m11/en/77.html). I couldn't counter them because I was playing my red/green deck which has no counterspells.  :-[  One of my friends runs a deck that's seems similar to your black zombie token deck. There's nothing more awesome than seeing someone swing with 20 2/2 zombies.

Other than MTG I've also been getting into Street Fighter. Anyone here have SSFIV for Xbox?

There is a deck out there that is nearly impossible to do, but you end up with like 680,300,000,000 2/2 golem tokens or somehting like that.

And I only play standard. So traumatize isn't in my deck.

Ugh, I'm sorry. There's a reason I keep disappearing. It's because if I forget to check this every once in a while, I suddenly become afraid to because I fear that there will be disappointment generated by my being missing for a few days. I know I shouldn't expect anything like that from you guys.

That said, I'll try to be more active. It's not that I don't want to, it's that if I don't check this every once in a while, I have to force myself to. I think it's because of me being mildly autistic / socially awkward, but I don't know.

Sorry about this "serious business" post. I'll try to keep these to a minimum. Also, sorry for the topic revival, if this would be considered one.

When the Minecraft server is updated, I will try to get on that.

See ya.  :D
